These are the things you need to focus on while you’re building your 3D model. In many cases, you can clean up your model once complete, but it’s always good to consider these items before you dive in to help make your life easier later.
- Your model must open without any errors (missing textures or 3rd party plug-ins)
- Ensure your model is either a scene or set, but not a collection, which can’t be certified
- Upon rendering, the model needs to match the submitted published images you provided (both in terms of texturing/lighting, but also in composition and framing of your Signature image)
In order to assist you while you’re modeling and preparing your 3D model for publishing, we have created a set of free inspection tools that can help identify problems that need to be fixed prior to submission. Now that you’ve created an amazing model, before you can publish it for sale, you first need to clean it up. Generally speaking, this should be easy to accomplish and by following the guide here, will ensure any customer who buys your model will be able to put it into their pipeline regardless of how they work.
These are the images you’ll render and submit with your model to showcase what it is and how great it looks. For all required imagery listed below, no logos or watermarks can be used.
IMPORTANT: Upon opening your model and rendering, it needs to match the submitted published Signature Image you provided (both in terms of texturing/lighting, but also in composition and framing)
- Search Image – Just the model on a white (RGB: 247,247,247) background, model entirely inside frame to be used in the Search Results pages (minimum resolution and aspect ratio is 1200×1200 pixels square)
- Product Shots – At least 5 Product images from various angles and showing the important details of your work (minimum required resolution is 1920×1080 pixels)
- Turntable – An animated sequence of your static model turning over a minimum of 12 frames, starting from the front of the model, turning seamlessly (no slowdowns or stops) and looping back to start frame (minimum required resolution is 1920×1080 pixels)
- Wireframe Images – At least 1 still image, not see-through, background color different from rendered thumbnails (recommended: mid or dark gray with dark wires and light, flat shading – minimum required resolution is 1920×1080 pixels).
- UV Image -If your model has Unwrapped UVs on it, generate at least one image of the UV wireframe overlaid on top of the model’s Diffuse texture (minimum resolution is 800×800 pixels)
- Optional Imagery – Any additional renderings or turntables as you like at their respective image resolutions and aspect ratios. We strongly recommend that you create more than the minimum number required as more images will help you sell your model better. Period. (minimum recommended resolution is 1920×1080 pixels)
Once you’ve cleaned up your model and created amazing imagery to show off why a customer should buy it, it’s time to name your model and upload it for publishing to the TurboSquid website. It’s at this point you should consider how to price your model and to carefully describe what is included so there is no mistake as to what a customer receives when they purchase.
- Product Name must be in English that is properly formatted, without file extensions or versioning in the name
- Product pricing must conform to the CheckMate pricing matrix.
- Description includes
- Any third-party renderer used
- Resolutions for all textures
- Unit scale used, and size of model in that scale
- Have the polygon count and vertex count for model without subdivision
- Model & Textures are uploaded in one of three ways:
- Model & bitmap textures are placed into a single ZIP file with flat file structure (no subfolders) for each file format offered.
- Model & bitmap textures are placed into a single ZIP file with a single textures subfolder below the main file for each file format offered.
- All bitmap textures required are placed into a single, named ZIP file and uploaded once as a Textures Supporting Items product in the TurboSquid publisher. Models are each placed into their own named ZIP files and uploaded on their own.
